Steam Tug Engines Exhibit Gallery

The “T.S.T. Lyttelton II” exhibit at the Melbourne Steam Centre features the salvaged engine room of a 1938 harbour tug. The main engines, which are two restored triple expansion engines, are on display, arranged to replicate their original positions.

Other parts of the tug, including the hull, piping, boilers, and propellers, have also been preserved. The exhibit uses a restored Farrar boiler to supply steam for demonstrations, offering visitors a unique look into the mechanics of this historic vessel. Go there now …
